The data controller for this website is the Linear Algebra Card Game team, an independent project developed at Maastricht University.

2. What Data We Collect

2.1 Preorder Form

When you submit the preorder form, your email address is used to send you a confirmation and to notify you when the physical edition is available. Your email is not stored in any database — it is only delivered to our team inbox. You can cancel at any time via the unsubscribe link in your confirmation email or by contacting play@linearalgebragame.eu.

2.2 Analytics Cookies

If you accept analytics cookies, we use the following services to understand how visitors use our website:

• Google Analytics (GA4) — collects anonymised usage data such as pages visited, session duration, device type, and approximate location (country level). Cookies set: _ga, _ga_*. Retention: 2 months.
• Microsoft Clarity — records anonymised session replays (clicks, scrolls, mouse movements) and heatmaps to help us improve the user experience. Form inputs are masked to prevent recording of personal data. Cookies set: _clck, _clsk, CLID.

These cookies are only set after you give explicit consent via our cookie banner. No analytics data is collected if you reject cookies or do not make a choice.

2.3 Vercel Web Analytics

We use Vercel Web Analytics to collect anonymous, aggregated pageview data (such as page URL, referrer, browser, operating system, and device type). This service does not use cookies, does not store IP addresses, and does not track individual users across sessions. It runs automatically and does not require cookie consent.

• Preorder email addresses — not stored in any database. Your email appears only in the confirmation email sent to you and the notification delivered to our team inbox.
• Google Analytics data — server-side data retained for 2 months (configured minimum); browser cookies expire after 2 years.
• Microsoft Clarity data — 13 months (platform default).
